Do I need equipment or knowledge to implement web software?
You do not need any equipment or knowlege to implement web software. All you need is a computer and a connection to the Internet. Simply go to your software, log in, and start work. What if I get stuck and don't know how to proceed?

My people aren't computer literate. Can that be a problem?
No, the computer expertise of you and/or your people is not a factor. We have never seen anyone had trouble running these systems. We keep the software simple. We have found that employees who are not computer literate to a beautiful job with these web systems.
What if I decide I can't use the system?
If you find the system doesn't fit your needs we would prefer it if you tell us but you don't have to. There is no credit card required to sign up for your free trial. About two weeks into your trial period we will send you an invoice that would begin in another two weeks. If you feel you can't use the system, merely disregard the invoice.
How long does my data stay in the system?
Your data stays in the system from the day you sign up to the present. No data is deleted, ever. All systems use and archive principle, meaning that data is archived instead of deleted. You will have a history going back to the first day you signed up. We have clients that have data dating back 15 years or more.
How Is my data backed protected?
Web based software uses a proprietary “triple backup” process for all data. Here is how we protect the data your system:
- Backup one: immediate backup – Web Based Software servers all have redundant disk drives in a Raid 0 configuration. This means the data is written twice, once to each disk drive, immediately. The drives are mirrors. If one drive were to fail, the other drive is still working.
- Backup two: nightly backup – Each night the databse is written out and backed up to separate storage device. The storage device has redundant drives as well.
- Backup three: weekly backup – For extra measure the data is backed up once a week. We do this so we will always have data to go back to.
How long has Web Based Software been in business?
Web Based Software has been operating continuously since 1995. During that time we have had the same phone number. We have many clients that have been with us the entire time.
Would it be safer to keep the data at my location?
Web based software is what we do. Part of that is managing data. Business owners are not experts at backing up data. If you rely on a database, it needs to be on mirrored, redundant drives. Anything less is not sufficient. Very few businesses have the experience to know they need special redundant servers for company databases. While it may “feel” more secure to keep your data physically at your office, it really isn't. The most secure way to manage your data is to put it with a company that specializes in managing data. Can I access my system outside the office?
Being able to access your system and run your business while away from the office is one of the greatest advantages of having web based software. Most remote software is “spongy” and hard to use. Web based software is different. Rather than accessing a remote desktop like most software, web based software serves data into a web page. The data requirements are so small that your system works great even on the slowest connection. Web software works perfectly everywhere you go.
Where is the data held physically?
Data is hosted in an Internet hosting facility in downtown Los Angeles, California. We are hosted near the Wilshire One Building where the Internet piers on the West Coast. We chose this facility for speed and reliability. Our data center is located in an Internet building. The facility has backup power, redundant connections to the Internet, and is monitored 24 hours a day.
Can we export the data if we want?
Our systems come with a web to Microsoft Excel export function. You can download your data (at the click of a button) and load it up into Microsoft Excel. From there you can do whatever you want.
Can I keep certain people from seeing sensitive data?
Our systems are multi-user systems with a User Administration section. As the system administrator you have the top priority: user Level Five. As administrator you access people into the system by giving them a username and password. At that time you set their security level, one through five. Fives can go everywhere and do everything. Ones have a limited view.
Do we need newer computers to run Web software?
No. All you need is a computer and connection to the Internet. Many software companies include tricky client-side code, like javascript, in their systems. We don't. While it might seem “neat” to use these applications it can make the system unreliable for certain browsers and computers. Web software will run on any operating system and any browser including MAC. If you can get to the Internet you can run your system. We guarantee it.
Can we install the software on our computers?
We don't offer user-installed software. That's not what we do. Web software products are designed to run over the Internet. This frees you from having to install anything. It also frees you from having a computer expert on staff. We support our systems fully. Our systems function perfectly, all the time. You are free from worry because we handle everything.
Can I get phone support if I need it?
Yes. However our systems are so user friendly training usually isn't required. The functions and buttons are exactly where they should be. The system does what you expect it to do. Our experience has been that once you become familiar with the software you have no problem using it. Should you have difficulty we would be happy to talk you through any problems you may be having.
Can you customize the software for us?
Yes, it is possible. Our software comes in a standard configuration. This is what most people want. If you come with something you have to have we have two choices.
- If the change is something all our users can use, we may add it to the software free of charge.
- If the change is something specific to your company, there may be a programming charge.
That being said, our systems are robust and run most business just fine. If you need custom programming the rates are resonable, even for the smallest business.
Are there any signup fees or other hidden fees?
No. Payments are based on when you sign up. There are no setup fees, per user fees, or termination fees. Our standard method is three month increments payable by check. We prefer annual arrangements payable by credit card. We offer a significant discount of our already low rates for annual subscriptions.
Do you offer any versions of your software for free?
No. That is not our business model. We are interested in serious users only. We have a velvet rope policy with our clients. We owe it to them not to open our systems to the public. We treat paying clients with respect and attend to their needs. We have built a clientele on quality and reliability.
Do you have a refund policy?
No. We offer the first thirty days for free. At that time we issue an invoice for the next 90 days. This is a pay as you go service. You are essentially renting the system. You can, if you wish, arrange a monthly subscription. We do not prorate invoices and/or provide refunds. You can leave any time you wish.
Are there any contracts to sign?
No. When you sign up you get the first 30 days free. If and when you choose to use the system you simply pay that month and start using it. If you decide to not to use you just quit paying. There are no contracts to sign and no hidden requirements to fulfill. This makes us accountable too. We have to deliver quality service or we won't be around. We know that.
Can we pay in advance?
Yes. You can choose any payment plan you like: monthly, quarterly, or yearly. We prefer annual subscriptions and offer a significant discount. You can choose to pay by check or credit card. We always mail invoices for your records.
Do you offer any other systems?
